New browser lets you surf the net in any language

WorldLingo's Translation technology has been integrated with Custom Browser's Product Suite, giving users access to a translation capable and branded Internet browser.

The partnership is in response to language and browser limitations that have restricted global communications on the Internet.

English dominated web pages on the Internet have resulted in businesses losing sales revenues of $10 million per year, according to Harvard based Forrester Research.

International Data Corp's research supports these findings and emphasizes the need for businesses to quickly create effective web globalization strategies.

IDC 's report 'Website Globalization: The Next Imperative for the Internet 2.0 Era' concludes that as Internet users grow to 602 million people by 2003, the percentage of USA 'surfers' will drop from one-half (1998) to one-third.

Internet.com quotes IDC as saying "now is the time to gain a competitive advantage globally".

With more than half the potential market outside the US, companies failing to expand internationally are leaving one-half their potential revenue on the table."

WorldLingo President Phil Scanlan said the partnership with Custom Browser will give business and individual consumers more access to global companies and their products.

"This is great news for businesses, who will be able to expand their customer base to people who do not speak English as their native language," Mr. Scanlan said.

The WorldLingo translation tool allows Custom Browser users to change the language that is viewed on web sites with a single click.

"WorldLingo works seamlessly in the background, helping businesses maintain excellent customer communications," Mr. Scanlan said.

Forrester Research of Cambridge, Mass. Senior analyst Jim Nail said communicating clearly to customers is vital for business success.

"Our research proves that consumers are using the web for information and communication," Nail said.

"By making it easy for consumers to find answers about its products, a company can actually increase sales of those products."

The main focus of the Custom Browser product suite is to provide companies with a branded browser based on exact specifications.

Custom Browser CEO Howard Ryan said companies could have a wide range of customized features.

"These include customized about boxes and splash screens, artwork, drop down menus and Lan deployment," Ryan said.

"The availability of the WorldLingo tool is another component that gives companies what they want."
